Waiting is the Hardest Part….

Labor of love......

Labor of love……

It was a long tough winter.  I thought the snow would never melt.  Finally, at the end of May, I went shopping for my garden plants.  My husband and I worked hard digging up and turning soil, leveling the garden bed and placing certain plants in their optimal spot for growing.  We chose all organic plants and soil.  The best part about summer is our garden.  I took photos of the different phases of the garden.  So far we have been enjoying the spinach, parsley, basil, cilantro, chives, one zucchini and one tiny grape tomato.  We see lots of zucchini flowers as well as tiny cucumbers and small green tomatoes.  The eggplant is slow growing but we remain optimistic. Each day I water the garden and remove any dead leaves and weeds growing around.  I walk around peering in and hoping to find something to pick. “What is taking so long?”, I ask myself.  I bet the vegetables will taste has good as they smell!  I know good things are worth waiting for.  But,  waiting is the hardest part!

  1. My container garden is full of tomatoes. Some the size of small apples, but alas, they are still green. Many have turned yellow/green and I check them daily for red ones. This is my first attempt at gardening and the pleasure that I have received is indescribable.
